La Cura Retreats, Catalonia
Studio Act were appointed from pre-purchase to completion as the creative executive Architect for the complete renovation and extension of this dilapidated 16th Century Catalonian Masia. The brief was to create a ten bedroom wellness retreat to include new yoga studio and leisure facilities. The design ethos; to retain as much of the existing as possible so as to reveal the character whilst opening up the plan to create double-height spaces filled with natural daylight that flow through to one another. This was achieved using locally sourced natural materials, focusing on sustainable values and in collaboration with craftsmen.
